Shared 5-Fors

After Gaz and Ralphie shared Warlingham’s wickets a week or so ago, Pos’s curiosity got the better of him and he was wondering how many other times two different Stoke bowlers have taken five wickets in the same innings. Here are his findings, and his comments…

There are 29 matches where this has happened. Oddly there were 17 during the 1960s; but only 6 before 1960 and 6 since 1969.

The pairs of Peter Higgs & Ken Hutchinson and Roy Johns & Brian Meredith each appear 5 times. There are a few games where I looked at the scorecard and thought the other players on that day must have wished for them to let someone else play. There have only been two instances this century:
