2nd XI end League campaign with defeat at Chipstead

Surrey Championship Division 4 – 2nd XI competition
Chipstead Coulsdon & Walcountians 2nd XI 181 all out (49.3 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 135 all out (41.1 overs)
Chipstead Coulsdon & Walcountians 2nd XI won by 46 runs

The same old story for Stoke’s second string. A committed bowling and fielding performance restricted Chipstead to 181 all out on a good pitch; highlights being a sensation catch in the deep by Tom Gudgeon and three catches at the wicket for Malcolm Dickson, who reached 100 career dismissals with the first of them.

In reply, Nico Spreeth continued to show his promise with a well constructed 23; but a succession of lost partners eventually made the task too big for someone so young. John Crisp clubbed a quick 20, but insufficient runs down the order, 25 from Jeremy Connell aside, saw Stoke dismissed for just 135, seven runs short of a losing bonus point.
