Stoke in International T20 Action on Tuesday 17th August, 11am start

We are pleased to announce that we have arranged a T20 fixture against the CIMA Toronto Mayor’s XI for Tuesday 17th August as part of their 2010 tour to the UK.

The Toronto Mayor’s XI will be in London from August 14th to August 23rd, and this is their third annual UK tour. Their tour co-ordinator is Ranil Mendis and their squad is made up of 16-22 year old Asian and Caribbean Canadians…with a bus driver supplied by Chessington CC!

Ranil has provided the following comment by way of a warm up…

“…Here’s a look at some of our boys who were on Toronto’s popular breakfast TV this week. These young Toronto cricket ambassadors have a job of teaching cricket to the TV hosts of this baseball country, every time they go on TV.

Here they are teaching cricket to a Canadian born Trinidadian – who didn’t know the game that much…

Please make every effort to come down and cheer both teams on. The Stoke side will include Hiken Shah, Anthony Alleyne and other members of the Academy side who will hope to make good use of the match as preparation for their forthcoming Surrey Trust League semi-final.
